Ask Questions At Your Interview
I run into this article written by Dave Kerpen on an important topic related to interview skills: Why is it essential to ask questions during your interview?
I fully agree with Dave that by not asking any questions at the interview you are pointing at your lack of interest in the role and the company mission, lack of passion and curiosity whatsoever. I like the idea of looking at your interview as a date – it is a two way street where both parties are reviewing the right fit. Isn't it obvious that in order to achieve that review, you both need to ask questions?
Here are some of questions Dave suggested you can use at the interview:
Who would make the ideal candidate for this position?
How will the work I’ll be doing contribute to the organization’s mission?
What were the best things about the last person who held this position?
How can I best contribute to the department’s goals?
You can be very creative here and show your sincere interest by asking multiple questions. Test it yourself!
